The London Agreement is a patent law agreement reached by countries of the European Patent Office in October of 2000. It provides that if a patent is registered in English, German, or French, it is valid throughout Europe.

In 2000, 7% of patents registered in Europe were in French, 18 % in German, and 80% in English.

We also regularly translate Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean, to or from French and English.

Below are the services we offer :

- Translation of your projects (patent applications, etc.) so that you may register it with Offices around the world.
- Translation of European Patents : when the EPO (European Patent Office) issues a patent, submitting the translation of the text is required by most patent Offices of designated states.
- Translation of PCT patents : we will take care of translating PCT applications (Patent Cooperative Treaty, as required by the World Intellectual Property Organization: WIPO), amendments, and international preliminary examination reports.
(For EPO countries, the PCT application becomes a European patent application known as "Euro-PCT")
- Translation for your information : Industrial Property professionals are often called upon to judge the relevance of a patent application or registration by a competitor. These are often documents cited by a patent examiner or located through old technology and the competition. Sometimes the published translation already exists in a familiar language, however when expert analysis of the significance of the claims is crucial, even this solution is not enough. You also have the option to have just an excerpt of the patent translated.

Patents are always written in a unique style and must contain specific and concise information. Should you need to have your patent translated, you will need the skills of a specialist.
