Certain
official
documents
(birth
certificates,
diplomas,
marriage
certificates,
citizenship
documents,
notarial
deeds,
driver
licenses…)
require
a
certified
translation
by a
court-appointed
expert
(the
requesting
party
will
often
insist
on a
certified
translation).
This
type of
translation
confers
to the
translated
document
the same
legal
value as
the
original.
An
official
seal is
affixed
to the
translation
as well
as the
original
documents.
Business
translations
do not
need to
be
certified,
however
we
recommend
it at
times
for
contracts,
charters
and
by-laws,
or
letters
and
certificates.
For us
to be
more
efficient
with
certified
translations,
it is
best if
you can
provide
us with
the
original
documents.
We will
then
send you
the
translation
and
certified
copies
by mail.
